The next generation of talented young Figure Skaters takes the stage as the Juniors traditionally start the season with the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series 2022/23.
The ISU Junior Grand Prix Series features talented young Skaters aged 13 to 19 (21 for the male Ice Dance and Pair Skating partners) from Europe, North and South America, Asia, Oceania as well as Africa and provides them with the possibility to compete at the international level. Today’s stars such as Olympic Champions Nathan Chen (USA) and Wenjing Sui/Cong Han (CHN) all started their journey to Olympic glory once on the ISU Junior Grand Prix. Now with the start of the next Olympic cycle, there are plenty of future top Skaters to be discovered at the ISU Junior Grand Prix.
The 2022/23 season marks the 25th edition of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating which was introduced in 1997. The Series was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the 2020/21 season.
Overview of the events
The Series consists of seven events and starts August 24-27 in Courchevel (FRA), followed by Czech Skate in Ostrava (CZE) August 31-September 3. The next events are the Riga Cup in the Latvian capital September 7-10, and the Junior Grand Prix in Yerevan (ARM) September 21-24. Poland hosts two back to back events in Gdansk, on September 28 - October 1st and on October 5-8, replacing the fifth event that was originally to be held in Grenoble (FRA). The Series concludes in Egna-Neumarkt (ITA) October 12-15.
The events in Ostrava, Riga and in Gdansk include Pair Skating. Skaters/Couples earn points according to the results in each event and the top six in each discipline will advance to the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, which will take place in Torino (ITA) on December 8-11.

The Global Prize money per individual event of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating is US$ 22.500,00 (for events without Pair Skating US$ 15,740) which will be awarded to each medal winner for each category as follows:

Selection Criteria
More than 300 young Skaters from over 50 ISU Members are expected to compete in this year’s Series. Each ISU Member is entitled to enter competitors for the Series while the number of their entries depends on the result of the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2022.
Following the IOC recommendation and in order to protect the integrity of ice skating competitions and for the safety of all the participants of international ice skating competitions, the ISU Council based on Article 17.1.q)i) of the ISU Constitution, agreed that with immediate effect and until further notice, no Skaters belonging to the ISU Members in Russia (Russian Skating Union and the Figure Skating Federation of Russia) and Belarus (Skating Union of Belarus) shall be invited or allowed to participate in International ice skating competitions including ISU Championships and other ISU Events. The same applies to Officials listed in the respective ISU Communications and/or Regulations under Russia and Belarus (see ISU Communication 2469).
