The fifth stop of the ISU World Cup Short Track Speed Skating Series 2014/15 resumed today in Dresden, Germany with the first Ladies and Men’s 1500 m of the weekend, and the Ladies and Men’s 1000 m and Relay semifinals.
Elise Christie (GBR) was crowned the Lady 2015 ISU European Short Track Speed Skating Champion, while Sjinkie Knegt (NED) took the championship title on the men’s side. In the team events, the relay champions for both the ladies and men’s events were Russia.
After spending Friday racing through qualifying rounds in all individual distances, Europe’s best short track speed skaters took the ice today in Drodretch for the Ladies and Men 1500 m and 500 m finals. Elise Christie (GBR) and Sjinkie Knegt (NED) concluded the day leading their respective European Championship classification.
